About The Position

School of Rock is a performance-based music education provider. The Music Instructor is responsible for music education in lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience that challenges and inspires students and helps them develop musical and life skills. Instruction covers the school's five core areas: keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Instructors may also contribute other musical talents where possible. The role includes private lessons, shows, student and parent communication, rehearsal support, and basic school maintenance. The position offers a flexible schedule.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
Ability to work well with a wide range of customers and other people.
Strong organizational skills.
Very strong customer relations skills.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
Good judgment.
Passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

Maximize the quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows.
Ensure students learn music fundamentals as well as songs.
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
Communicate regularly with parents about students' progress after lessons.
Interact regularly with parents and students, remaining visible and accessible in the school.
Assist with the overall execution of the program during canceled lessons.
Assist in rehearsals and basic school maintenance.
Follow the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.
