About The Position

This is a student worker position in the Music Department at the College of DuPage. The Music Assistant will provide support to faculty in the Music Department, service all choral ensembles and selected classroom courses, and assist with various administrative and logistical tasks. The role requires a student enrolled in a minimum number of credit hours with a satisfactory GPA, and preference will be given to students eligible for Federal Work Study.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
• If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good public relation abilities required.
• Some knowledge of music essential required.
• Student who participates in music ensembles required.
• Ability to follow through on tasks required.
• COD Training
• Compliance Training

Responsibilities

• Service all choral ensembles plus selected classroom courses.
• Filling in forms, contracts, requisitions.
• Mailing projects.
• Setting up music room for instruction and rehearsals.
• Filing, managing, disseminating and coordinating printed music.
• Manage music library.
• Marking instrumental parts.
• Assist with receptions, coffee/tea set ups.
• Errands, photocopy, concert publicity, posters, postcards.
