About The Position

The Studio Museum in Harlem and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) are collaborating on a two-year Museum Fellowship program focused on Public Programming. Two fellows will be selected to spend one year at each institution, rotating to the partner institution after their first year. This fellowship offers hands-on experience in museum operations, including developing and executing public programs, workshops, and events. Fellows will gain insight into researching, developing, producing, and evaluating adult public programs, conducting outreach to cultural partners, and developing audience strategies. They will also be responsible for communicating and coordinating with a diverse range of participants and facilitators, including artists, scholars, educators, community organizers, and arts organizations. At The Studio Museum, fellows will work with the Public Programs team to design programs and community engagement opportunities for adult audiences, such as artist talks, workshops, film screenings, book clubs, panel discussions, and artist-in-residence programs. The ideal candidate is a creative and nimble thinker, willing to take on programmatic and administrative tasks, comfortable interacting with the public, and able to collaborate effectively with staff across both museums. They should be comfortable working in a professional office environment and willing to handle a full scope of relevant tasks.
