About The Position
The Museum Assistant position is a part-time role at the Berman Museum of Art, serving as a receptionist, visitor services representative, collections assistant, and tour guide. The museum supports the educational mission of Ursinus College by presenting innovative exhibitions and programs that cultivate curiosity and encourage exploration, critical thinking, and civic engagement. Admission is free and open to the public. The growing collection is an important resource for teaching and outreach to diverse college and community audiences, and ensuring the integrity, preservation, and interpretation of these artworks and artifacts is an ongoing responsibility.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Working at the Berman reception desk
- Opening and closing of the museum as needed
- Assistant at events and with event planning
- Give tours of exhibitions and outdoor sculpture collection
- Collections duties, including exhibition installation, as assigned by the Collections Manager
