Reporting to the Arts & Culture Program Manager, this position will work in close collaboration with all staff members to plan, implement and evaluate the museum’s educational programming. This position requires a person who is enthusiastic, self-directed and has a sense of cooperation. The Education and Public Programs Coordinator will create and implement programs for all age levels in various media utilizing but not limited to the collection, exhibitions, techniques, and other art form collaborations that stimulate learning about and through the arts. This role involves researching and developing both 2D & 3D digital programs and integrating emerging technologies in the classroom. He/she will also develop and maintain positive relationships with the public and private school system, parents and children, students and teachers, senior communities and colleagues in the museum field. Our goal is to ensure that the educational focus is clearly articulated and communicated, while working to build strong and engaged audience through but not limited to classes, workshops, demos, online learning etc. The Education and Public Programs Coordinator builds and oversees a team of Instructors, volunteers, and contract program providers; should be organized and detail-oriented; friendly with a sense of humor; exhibit strong communication skills; possess teaching ability; have an understanding of non-profit operation; leader and team player; and express interest in working in an arts setting with varied audiences. This individual should also have a strong understanding of supplies, studio equipment and studio functionality.
