About The Position

As a Municipal Traffic Technician, you play an important role in ensuring that traffic control set-ups are completed according to the traffic management plan and applicable regulations. You will also work with our clients to ensure that set-ups meet their needs.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid G driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must have your own personal vehicle to drive to and from the yard
  • Ability to use a smartphone and enter data using computerized mobile devices
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision
  • You will be required to provide your own CSA Grade 1 (green label) work boots with a minimum 6 inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (white label with omega symbol)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience hauling loads and / or commercial delivery experience is an asset.
  • Able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people

Responsibilities

  • Interpret traffic management plans to determine proper placement of signage and channeling devices
  • Perform traffic control set-ups in accordance with traffic management plans and safety requirements
  • Complete teardown and removal of traffic control sites once work has been completed
  • Work collaboratively with clients to identify and resolve site set-up issues
  • Communicate effectively with field crews and stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Maintain strong safety awareness at all times while performing duties
  • Work in compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, company policies, and safe work procedures
  • Ensure the safety of crew members, motorists, pedestrians, and other stakeholders impacted by the work zone
  • Deliver and pick up traffic control equipment using Company vehicles
  • Ensure equipment is transported, handled, and stored safely and appropriately
