About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Multiskilled Technician IV to join our team in Winston Salem, NC! This role is responsible for providing an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing plant environment. The technician will perform all aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance on facilities-related industrial systems including Water Systems, Air Systems, HVAC Systems, Chillers, Air Handlers, and Building Automation Systems. The role involves working alongside other skilled technicians, communicating effectively with site management and customers, identifying and correcting safety issues, and performing equipment evaluations. The position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules, and the ability to work overtime and be on call.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Five years of experience performing general maintenance repair in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • May be required to work holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to be on call in case of emergency.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in industrial technology or certificate from an industrial electrical course
  • Knowledge of lighting, lighting control and commercial systems
  • Working knowledge of pumps and motors
  • Experience troubleshooting and replacing 3 phase motors up 60hp
  • Experience with circuits and wiring up to 480 V 3 Phase.
  • Experience with a CMMS or Maintenance Management System (i.e. Maximo, M5K, etc.)
  • Experience with a BAS (Building Automation System)
  • Knowledge of Chillers, Compressors, Overhead Cranes, and Hydraulic Systems.
  • Commercial HVAC operating systems
  • NFPA-70E training preferred
  • HVAC/R EPA Certification

Responsibilities

  • Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines nature of problem, and recommends appropriate solutions.
  • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Coordinates work with outside contractors.
  • Assures code and building standards are met.
  • Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.
  • Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
  • Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc).
  • Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Works with or oversees subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
  • Coordinates work with others in discipline group and other discipline groups on the project.
  • Responsible for neatness and accuracy of work.
  • May train other technicians.
  • May prepare formal reports on experiments, tests, and other projects.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management.
