About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Facility Multiskilled Maintenance Technician III to join their team in Clayton, OH. The primary responsibility is to maintain the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. This role involves a wide range of duties including electrical repairs, fleet repairs, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, plastering, masonry, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance such as HVAC and sheet metal work. The technician will work under general supervision, handling tasks of substantial variety and complexity, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They will review service requests, troubleshoot issues, perform repairs and preventative maintenance, and operate equipment in compliance with company regulations and safety standards. The role also requires identifying and correcting safety issues, analyzing equipment failures, and maintaining building and production services. A key aspect is performing planned maintenance, responding to customer needs, and recommending improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance. Safety procedures, including job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout, must be followed, and appropriate PPE must be worn. The technician will use various diagnostic and testing instruments, hand tools, and diagnostic hardware. Flexibility in scheduling is expected to benefit the customer, and general maintenance of equipment will also be required. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Three years of experience as an electrical and/or mechanical maintenance technician troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and systems in an industrial setting or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, perform tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.

  • Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines the nature of problem, and recommends appropriate solution.
  • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.
  • Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
  • Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc).
  • Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Operates, maintains, and repairs all facility and production associated equipment in compliance with all company regulations and standards.
  • Must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Analyzes equipment failures, inspects, replaces, alters, and maintains in good repair all building and production services and related equipment.
  • Performs planned maintenance on all building equipment and related services for specific areas while being sensitive and responsive to customer needs.
  • Performs trouble-shooting techniques on mechanical equipment such as pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, compressed air and other gas equipment and distribution systems to determine problems and effect repairs as promptly and efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.
  • Complies with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations and industry standards.
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
  • Work schedules can change based on critical business needs.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
