About The Position

Roseville Area Schools is hiring a long-term substitute Multilingual Learner/English Learner teacher at Little Canada Elementary School. This is a 1.0 FTE assignment starting October 26, 2026, and ending November 22, 2026, with the possibility of an extension. The teacher plans culturally responsive lessons, differentiates instruction, uses varied assessments, and builds relationships that connect students and curriculum to students’ lives. The position also involves communicating with families, attending conferences, collaborating with professional staff, and contributing to a Professional Learning Community.

Requirements

A Minnesota Teaching License in English as a Second Language (K-12).
Commitment to an equitable educational experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies for a wide range of diverse student learning styles and abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, district staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
Belief that all children can and will learn at all levels.

Responsibilities

Plan culturally responsive lessons incorporating diverse cultural materials and learning styles.
Motivate students by building relationships and connecting curriculum with their lives.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Use authentic and varied forms of assessment of and for learning.
Communicate frequently with parents and guardians, sharing student successes and raising concerns when students are unable to accomplish work.
Attend parent/guardian conferences to discuss student progress.
Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members to assess and help students address health, attitude, and learning problems.
Contribute effectively as a member of a Professional Learning Community.
