About The Position

Edmonds School District is hiring a 1.0 FTE, non-continuing Multilingual Learner (ML) Teacher at Hazelwood Elementary for November 2, 2026, or as soon as hired, through the end of the 2026–27 school year only. ML teachers support students’ English language acquisition through research-based interventions and language-rich learning environments. They support school staff in integrating language supports into grade-level instruction so students can reach and exceed grade-level goals, and collaborate with the district to implement State Transitional Bilingual Instructional programming requirements. The district is committed to workplace diversity and an equity-focused direction. Its certificated staff engage and support students by creating learning environments that promote autonomy, interaction, competence, and choice; responding to diverse student needs, including through reasonable accommodations; and maintaining and communicating high learning standards for all students. New employees must complete SIOP and GLAD training offered by the Multilingual Education Department within their first year of employment, unless they can provide evidence of having completed both trainings previously. Preference is given to candidates with an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement. The salary range for the 2026–27 school year is $85,456–$152,066. Placement depends on FTE and official documentation of educational level and certificated work experience. Salary is prorated for less than a full year and/or FTE. Eligible employees may receive Washington State health insurance and retirement benefits. Health insurance eligibility is based on anticipated compensated hours; eligibility for this non-continuing position is determined at hire based on anticipated hours through the end of the contract. Retirement eligibility is based on anticipated monthly work hours and months worked.
