Multilingual Learner Coordinator - ESL Teacher 2026-2027
About The Position
Brooke Charter Schools is seeking a Multilingual Learner Coordinator (formerly English Language Learner Coordinator) to coordinate ESL services and provide direct instruction to small groups of students. This role involves developing and tracking clear, measurable English language proficiency goals, coordinating and administering state-mandated ML identification assessments, and managing redesignation assessments. The coordinator will also monitor Exiting Multilingual Learner (EML) students and maintain ML records in compliance with DESE regulations. As a key member of the instructional team, the coordinator will collaborate with teachers to share best practices and ensure high-quality sheltered content instruction. The position requires a commitment to fostering diversity, cultivating anti-racist practices, and empowering students. A joyful classroom culture with high academic and behavioral expectations is essential. The ideal candidate is professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Massachusetts ESL teaching license
- Commitment to fostering diversity by cultivating anti-racist practices and removing bias
- Ability to empower students with resources for choice-filled lives
- Understanding of building a joyful classroom culture with high behavioral and academic expectations
- Professional, warm, and collaborative demeanor with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to start in July of 2026
Responsibilities
