Multi-Trade Remodel Carpenter

Quality Mobile Home ServicesPleasanton, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Quality Mobile Home Services is hiring an experienced multi-trade carpenter for our Northern California operation. This is a hands-on production role - you'll be running remodel and repair work on manufactured, modular, and mobile homes across the region. Jobs range from one-day maintenance calls to multi-month structural repairs. Some weeks are a single deep build start to finish; other weeks cycle through three or four shorter jobs. Comfort with both ends of that spread matters. You'll work a two-man crew on every job. Depending on scope, that's either you running the job with a helper or apprentice in support, or you and another tradesman working as peers on a more complex build. Either way, this is a working role - your hands are on the tools. About 40% of our work happens in the crawl space under the home - subfloor repair, repipe, foundation and pier work, and leveling all live down there. Comfort working in confined spaces is required for this role. You'll be working inside customers' homes, not on an empty job site. Most of our customers are senior citizens or older homeowners - many of whom have lived in their place for decades and will be home while you work. Respectful communication, clean job sites at end of day, and the patience to walk someone through what you're doing are as much a part of this role as the carpentry.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in residential remodel or repair construction
  • Strong carpentry foundation - can frame, square, level, and trim without supervision
  • Comfortable across multiple trades (plumbing, drywall, basic finish work)
  • Works well in either role on a two-man crew - leading a helper when needed, collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with a peer tradesman when that's the call
  • Strong customer communication - patient, respectful, and able to explain what you're doing in plain language, especially with senior homeowners
  • Reads plans, takes accurate measurements, manages your own day on a job site
  • Comfortable on ladders and able to lift 50+ lbs regularly
  • Valid CA driver's license, clean DMV record
