About The Position

This position provides innovative leadership for the Multi-Regional Training Center (MRTC) within HealthForce Minnesota, ensuring access to current American Heart Association (AHA) information and training opportunities for Minnesota State institutions, students, and external partners. The role involves managing contracts, overseeing budgets, providing customer service, and maintaining the center's website and database systems. The manager will also serve as a subject matter expert in AHA curriculum and certifications, coordinate with members, ensure compliance with standards, and conduct quality assurance assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of professional experience in education and/or healthcare setting OR an equivalent combination of post-secondary training, education and/or advanced professional experience.
  • Has held certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Heartsaver; current certification is not required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in high-demand environments with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including students, colleagues, community members, and external partners.
  • Strong skills in planning, budgeting, and implementing operational strategies.
  • Proficiency in using technology to conduct business operations, including Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States by the day employment begins.

  • Experience as an AHA Training Center instructor.
  • Familiarity with state contracts and financial or operational systems such as Workday, rSchoolToday, and Marketplace.
  • In-depth understanding of American Heart Association policies, curriculum, and training structures.
  • Proven experience planning and hosting professional conferences or training events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide innovative leadership to ensure Minnesota State institutions and students have access to current AHA information and training opportunities, aligning with HealthForce Minnesota’s strategic initiatives.
  • Provide innovative leadership to ensure external faculty and instructors have access to current AHA information and training opportunities.
  • Manage the contracts and relationship with AHA and other inter/intra agency partners.
  • Ensure the center operates within budget by monitoring membership numbers, implementing a strategic pricing model, managing expenditures, directing revenue collection, and serving as the accounting liaison.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality customer service to address inquiries regarding training offerings, technology, curriculum, and procedures.
  • Maintain and oversee the accuracy and functionality of the center’s website, database, online ordering system, and accounting systems.
  • Serve as subject matter expert of Atlas, MRTC database and rSchoolToday systems.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate technology concerns as they arise.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in AHA curriculum and certifications.
  • Research best practices for AHA trainers.
  • Actively participate in AHA administrative committees to provide insights and remain current on curriculum updates and procedural changes.
  • Ensure Minnesota State institutions, instructors, faculty, and all external users receive timely curriculum updates and access to essential training resources.
  • Provide guidance and training on AHA curriculum standards, certification protocols and the utilization of official AHA resources.
  • Uphold the center’s contractual obligations with AHA by ensuring compliance across all training activities.
  • Exercise authority in resolving certification issues, addressing non-compliance, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee enrollment and maintain accurate records of AHA instructor personal and professional data.
  • Provide training to administrative staff on proper input of appropriate AHA instructor credentials.
  • Communicate regularly with Minnesota State institutions, faculty, external users and AHA instructors to ensure a responsive, high-quality service.
  • Create standardized forms which are easy to use and compliant to improve center efficiency and accuracy.
  • Deliver training updates and communications to keep instructors and Minnesota State EMS personnel informed of current practices.
  • Plan, lead, and present at an annual member conference; organize regional meetings; facilitate online user groups as needed; and distribute newsletters.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance plan for the center.
  • Convene constituents to communicate new policies, procedures, standards, and expectations.
  • Establish and maintain standardized policies, procedures, templates, and forms to support consistent quality assurance practices.
  • Monitor courses delivered by instructors to ensure compliance with American Heart Association (AHA) and MRTC standards.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of center instructors on a regular basis.
  • Conduct training center audits on a regular basis.
  • Assess the timeliness of operations per quality improvement measurements so that clients receive efficient customer service.
  • Provide information on program activity data to the Executive Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of HealthForce Minnesota and maintain the reputation of Winona State University.
  • Attend national AHA training to remain up to date on AHA requirements.
  • Serve on committees and participate in professional development opportunities.
