About The Position

The manager will provide overall Quality leadership for the classified programs, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 12207, and internal LM quality standards while driving a culture of accountability. He/she will administer program budgets (approximately $10 M‑$30 M) and develop, monitor, and adjust schedules using Earned Value Management techniques to keep projects on track. Direct supervision of roughly 60 personnel—including supervisors, inspectors, analysts, and engineers—will involve assigning work, evaluating performance, identifying skill gaps, and fostering professional development. Continuous‑improvement initiatives will be led through corrective‑preventive actions, root‑cause analyses, and Lean/Six‑Sigma projects aimed at reducing defects and increasing efficiency. The manager will collaborate closely with Engineering, Test Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, and external customers (DoD, DCMA, etc.) to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments, while preparing and presenting status reports to senior leadership and customers. Additionally, the role will manage union and non‑union labor relations, oversee hiring, recognition, and disciplinary actions, and ensure all activities adhere to contractual and governmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience in aircraft manufacturing, modification, or maintenance‑repair‑overhaul (MRO) environments.
  • Proven Quality Control/Assurance/Engineering leadership with strong CAPA, root‑cause analysis, and Lean/Six‑Sigma expertise.
  • Active Secret clearance (interim) at hire.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance within 12 months.
  • Proficiency with aerospace quality standards AS9100 and/or ISO 12207.
  • Experience applying Earned Value Management.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising both represented (union) and non‑represented workforces.
  • Background in aircraft manufacturing, modification, inspection, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with Military, DoD civilian, and DCMA customers.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Lean/Six‑Sigma certification.
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin systems (SFM, QADS, ICA, PCAMS, AMS 9000).
  • Demonstrated understanding of Full‑Spectrum Leadership Imperatives and a culture of accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence across matrix organizations.
  • Secret or Top Secret with an investigation or Continuous Vetting (CV) date within 5 years.
