About The Position

You will be the Deputy to the Director of Air Vehicle Engineering for a classified portfolio of programs. Our team is responsible for delivering technically sound engineering on time and on schedule across a portfolio of programs. You will help ensure lean, schedule‑driven execution, maintain technical integrity, and coordinate with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders. As the Deputy Air Vehicle Lead you will assist with the guidance and management of a large, full scope engineering team that provides engineering products to multiple programs. You will take responsibility for planning and oversight of major segments of work, and stand in for the Director on matters covering technical, cost, and schedule performance within the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline
  • Experience leading professional engineering staff in a formal leadership role
  • Experience with proposals and control account management
  • Hands-on experience developing and fielding air or space systems
  • CAM training and certification
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 15 years of relevant experience in air or space vehicle development, including design, production, test, and sustainment
  • Experience with all phases of the air or space vehicle lifecycle
  • Experience with multiple aerospace platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience engaging and presenting at the executive level internally and externally

Responsibilities

  • Planning engineering tasking and managing the execution of engineering work scope in accordance with the portfolio requirements.
  • Using earned‑value techniques and reporting tools to drive lean, schedule‑driven execution.
  • Coordinating staffing, organization, and control of Air Vehicle engineering personnel across the portfolio, aligning activities with diverse stakeholder groups and multiple site locations.
  • Overseeing technical adequacy, resource allocations, and tactical support plans for material‑review engineers, while maintaining clear written and verbal communication and traveling domestically as needed to support program milestones.
  • Assisting the Director with general oversight and management of the team.
  • Ensuring Air Vehicle engineering tasks are captured and managed.
  • Supporting proposal development.
  • Communicating status and challenges to senior leaders.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, and other engineering integration activities.
