MTO Driver
About The Position
Ashley Furniture Distribution Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, has an opening for a delivery driver. This full-time position follows a Tuesday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (10 hours per day). The driver delivers furniture and works in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment. A commercial driver's license (CDL) is not required. Candidates must have a valid Virginia driver's license and clean driving record, and must pass a criminal background investigation and drug screenings. The role involves inspecting, wrapping, packing, loading, unloading, and assembling furniture. Drivers use 24–26-foot straight/box trucks and moving support equipment, and are regularly required to stand, bend, twist, and lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds. Strong communication and customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work safely as part of a team are important.
Requirements
- Prior experience delivering furniture.
- Experience driving 24–26-foot straight/box trucks.
- Ability to inspect, wrap, pack, load/unload, and assemble furniture.
- Ability to use a dolly, wheeled cart, lifting straps, and other moving support equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to regularly stand, bend, twist, and lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work safely in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED (the posting also lists high school diploma or equivalent).
- Ability to use minimal technology devices.
- Valid Virginia driver's license and clean driving record.
- Pass a criminal background investigation and drug screenings.
- A CDL is not required.
