About The Position

The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing may include waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests, as authorized by the Director. The employee reports results according to established procedures, participates in quality control procedures, and follows departmental quality assurance and quality management standards, including applicable JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agency requirements. Specimen collection is performed as necessary.

Requirements

• For MLT: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• For MT: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens.
• Perform authorized waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests.
• Report test results according to established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures.
• Comply with departmental quality assurance and quality management standards and applicable agency requirements.
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.
