MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 40 Hours Per Week (Midnights)
About The Position
The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for processing specimens, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing may include waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The role reports results according to established procedures and participates in quality-control procedures, complying with departmental quality assurance and quality management standards and applicable requirements from JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agencies. Specimen collection is performed as necessary. The position is located at Ascension Alexian Brothers, 800 Biesterfield Rd., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. The schedule is 40 hours per week, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM, with weekend and/or holiday rotation. FTE: 1.0.
Requirements
- For MLT: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- For MT: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training is preferred.
Responsibilities
