Job Summary: Oversees the work activities of a team of Schedulers but does not supervise directly. Educates and mentors new hires. Ensures patients are identified and registered appropriately. Assists hospital departments in building and maintaining available resources and appointment blocks. Liaises with physicians, patients, physician office staff members, and ancillary departments. Communicates patient preparation needs and appointment schedules to physician offices. Demonstrates an understanding of pre-certification requirements proficiently. Performs all duties/functions in accordance with the facility’s philosophy, polices, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years job related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in medical terminology or health care management.
  • More than two (2) years of job-related experience in a medical or healthcare (office or hospital) setting (e.g., patient access, billing cash collections, insurance, and/or pre-certification requirements).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
