About The Position

The Winlock School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as a seasonal Assistant MS Football Coach. This position is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and uphold the values of sportsmanship and integrity.

Requirements

Previous experience in coaching football at the high school level or equivalent experience in a competitive environment.
Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, coaches, and parents.
Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.
Must pass a background check and comply with all district policies and regulations.
Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required by the football season schedule.
A passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.

Responsibilities

Assist the head coach in planning and implementing practice sessions and game strategies.
Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in skill development and game tactics.
Monitor and evaluate player performance during practices and games, offering constructive feedback.
Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and respect.
Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game plans and coordinate player positions.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
Assist in organizing team events, including practices, games, and team meetings.
Uphold and enforce school and district policies regarding athletics and student conduct.
Attend coaching clinics and workshops to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the game.
