About The Position

This role involves supporting the Head Football Coach in all aspects of managing a varsity football program. The Assistant Coach will focus on student-athlete development, coaching, safety, compliance, and community engagement, ensuring the program uphns the school's values and promotes academic success alongside athletic achievement.

Requirements

  • Experience in coaching football at the varsity level.
  • Knowledge of football fundamentals, strategy, and advanced skills.
  • Understanding of FHSAA, district/state athletic regulations, and school policies.
  • Ability to monitor student-athlete academic progress and behavior.
  • Skills in planning, organizing, and leading practices and games.
  • Proficiency in analyzing game film and performance data.
  • Knowledge of student-athlete safety protocols, including concussion management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model.

  • Experience in developing offensive, defensive, and special teams strategies.
  • Experience supervising and delegating responsibilities to assistant coaches.

  • Analyze game film and performance data to improve team outcomes.
  • Prioritize student-athlete safety, including concussion protocols and heat/conditioning guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with FHSAA, district/state athletic regulations, and CSUSA policies.
  • Maintain accurate records (eligibility, rosters, equipment, injuries).
  • Inventory, issue, and care for uniforms and equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding expectations, schedules, and student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support the whole child.
  • Represent the school positively at events, competitions, and community activities.
