Assistant Varsity Softball Coach
About The Position
This supplemental position involves assisting the Head Softball Coach with coaching, communication, and administrative duties. The role requires conducting regular practices, coaching student-athletes positively, and ensuring their safety during all team activities. The coach will also be responsible for developing practice and training plans, supervising and traveling with the team to contests, and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The typical time commitment is 15-20 hours per week, with coaching required six days per week, including practices and contests.
Requirements
- Experience in the designated sport
- Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification
Nice To Haves
- Prior coaching experience preferred
- Van certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Softball Coach with coaching, communication, and administrative duties as assigned.
- Conduct regular practices for the team.
- Coach student-athletes in a positive manner.
- Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.
- Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
