About The Position

Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice at Parkview Regional Hospital, a 49-bed acute-care facility in Mexia, Texas. The hospital provides medical/surgical care, rehabilitation, and emergency care, with a focus on maintaining and growing quality primary and specialty care services.

Requirements

Graduate from an approved Joint Review Committee of Radiologic Technology program (JRCRTE).
Successfully pass the registry administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within one year of post-graduation.
Hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
Hold current BLS certification.
Hold state certifications or licensure as required by the state of practice.
Read, write, and speak fluent English.
Maintain good and regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in diagnostic imaging is preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive, relay, and document verbal, facsimile, electronic, and telephone orders in the patient’s chart as permitted by state and company policies.
Educate patients and prepare them for procedures.
Select the appropriate protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
Apply ALARA principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
Apply the three basic principles of radiation safety: time, distance, and shielding.
Observe the patient and machine during procedures and report unexpected outcomes.
Clean and disinfect the x-ray room and equipment according to infection control policy.
Evaluate images for proper positioning and determine whether additional images may improve the procedure or treatment outcome.
Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
Corroborate the patient’s clinical history with the procedure and ensure information is documented and available for a licensed practitioner.
Postprocess images and data.
Verify archival storage of exam data.
Assist in maintaining medical records while respecting confidentiality and established policy.
Identify and respond to emergency situations.
Follow processes for managing equipment and the physical environment to ensure a safe working environment.
Communicate issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement routinely to the immediate supervisor.
Work cooperatively as a team member with coworkers in all hospital departments.
Apply patient safety principles during all aspects of patient care.
Provide optimal patient care.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
