About The Position

ChristianaCare's Imaging Department is recruiting a full-time MRI Technologist to work at Newark Hospital on the day shift. The role performs MRI procedures according to departmental protocols and uses RIS, HIS, and Intergy computer systems to enter patient data. The technologist transmits quality images to PACS, obtains and documents patient histories, performs quality control, and digitizes films. The role also involves providing customer service and safe, age-appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatric populations. A sign-on bonus of $7,500 is listed for eligible candidates.

Requirements

Completion of the ARRT registry is required.
Successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement; technologists hired without MRI certification have two years after hire to pass the exam.
Completion of a two-year associate degree program in Radiology.

Two years of experience as an MRI Technologist.

Responsibilities

Perform MRI procedures according to departmental protocols.
Perform duties in RIS, HIS, and Intergy computer systems and accurately enter patient data.
Transmit optimum-quality images to the PACS system.
Obtain and document adequate patient histories.
Perform quality control and digitize films.
Provide superior customer service to patients, family members, and members of the health care team.
Perform assigned work safely and follow departmental safety rules and practices.
Report unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to a supervisor in a timely manner.
Provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using relevant knowledge of growth and development and the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs.
