About The Position

The University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus is seeking an MRI Technologist to join its team. This benefit-eligible position is 0.6 FTE (48 hours) and follows a two-week schedule: Week 1, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; Week 2, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Occasional call rotation and weekends as needed are part of the schedule. If the majority of allocated shift hours are worked between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., those hours receive an additional $6.00 per hour on top of the base rate and shift differentials. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $9,000, prorated based on experience.

The MRI team supports adult and pediatric patients across a broad range of specialties and works closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, anesthesia teams, and other clinical partners throughout the hospital. This opportunity is for a technologist interested in professional growth, expanding responsibilities beyond the scanner, and continuing hands-on clinical work.

Requirements

• Technical Certificate or Associate of Science in Radiology.
• ARRT Radiology Tech certification.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare experience.
• Previous Lead MRI Technologist experience.
• One year of experience in a related role.
• Additional certifications in Imaging.
• ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 1-1/2 years.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prioritize work to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide individualized, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate with and educate patients regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the exam.
• Obtain quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
• Apply established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures.
