About The Position

The MRF Laborer ensures materials on the conveyor are properly sorted, removed, and placed in corresponding containers. The position works in dusty and noisy indoor and outdoor conditions and may involve exposure to extreme weather. It requires extended periods of standing and frequent lifting or moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• No qualifications are required.
• Regularly sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work for long periods while standing.
• Have close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and sort materials according to size, type, and condition.
• Keep the work area and surrounding areas clean.
• Immediately report unsafe work conditions or equipment issues to a supervisor.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
