About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful General Manager Trainee to learn to manage a moving and storage center. The role involves learning how to make rental facilities profitable and efficient by tracking inventory and managing equipment, while resolving problems as they arise. Managing a center is described as varied, fast-paced, and rewarding. The position is located at 68075 Ramon Rd, Cathedral City, California 92234. Compensation is $19.08 to $25.30 per hour. The role is not eligible for employer sponsorship; applicants must be legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship. The hiring process includes two paid, hands-on working interviews. A $100 hiring bonus is offered, as well as a $300 cash bonus upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in specified states. Requirements

1–3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
Computer expertise.
Organizational expertise.
Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Must be legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
Track and itemize inventory.
Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care.
Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
Clean and monitor the premises and maintain a secure environment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
