About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking a Mountain Safety Patrol Lead for the Winter 26/27 season. This role manages the daily activities of the Mountain Safety Patrol volunteers three days a week, focusing on minimizing on-mountain risk and reckless behavior through skier/rider education and awareness. The position involves administrative duties, efficient communication, and supporting volunteers. The Lead will assist the Supervisor with managing volunteers, be present on the hill on skis or snowboard, and perform administrative tasks to oversee the program. This role fosters guest service skills and includes responsibilities such as hiring, training, skier/rider safety education, communication, safety events, safety initiatives, rewards and recognition, and coordinating benefits and social events. Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Teams, and scheduling/reporting applications, are essential. The Lead will also assume the Supervisor's duties on their scheduled days off. This is a seasonal position with potential fluctuations in hours based on business volume. The role also functions as an ambassador for Copper Mountain, modeling the company culture and striving to exceed guest expectations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to ski/ride on Blue designated trails or above, in all weather conditions and temperatures.
  • A criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Thorough communication and excellent administrative skills.
  • Strength in Excel, Microsoft Teams and application usage for scheduling and running reports.
