About The Position

Woodward Park City is seeking a Mountain Patroller to join their Health and Safety team. This role is crucial for ensuring guest safety and providing medical assistance at the year-round action sports facility. The Patroller will be responsible for administering first aid, managing incidents, maintaining trails, promoting a safe environment, participating in lift evacuations, and performing daily operational duties. Requirements

• Must be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and CPR certified before employment.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must successfully complete a background check before employment.
• Ability to bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Ability to operate equipment, including ski, snowboard, and/or mountain bike.
• Sufficient sight, speech, and hearing abilities to learn skills and follow and provide directions.
• Ability to negotiate terrain in and around Woodward Park City safely.
• Ability to ski or snowboard and mountain bike.
• Ability to safely assess and negotiate all-season terrain and action sports hub environments.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Excellent guest service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Ski patrol or bike patrol experience is preferred.
• A four-year college degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to assist teams in achieving goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide all-season patient care for indoor and outdoor activities including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, mountain biking, skateboarding, scooter, in-line skating, BMX, and parkour.
• Promote employee and guest safety.
• Transport and set up mountain safety supplies and equipment.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Perform chairlift evacuation.
• Provide safe patient transportation.
• Cross-train and assist in daily dispatch duties.
• Adapt to a rapidly changing environment and develop new skills as needed.
• Maintain a positive and supportive attitude that promotes teamwork.
• Participate in regular training within Health and Safety and cross-training with other departments.
• Provide excellent guest service regardless of the situation.
• Administer first aid and handle incidents.
• Maintain trails to mitigate hazards.
• Promote and create a safe environment for both guests and employees.
