About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher for the Go-Transit Shuttle Service at Joint Base Lewis McChord. This role is crucial for coordinating shuttle operations, ensuring efficient passenger transportation, and supporting administrative tasks related to the fleet. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, and prior dispatching experience. This position requires availability to work 365 days a year and the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC card after passing a background screening and drug test.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge (proficient) of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Prior dispatching experience with a shuttle service, or similar customer service role.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in briefing executive level boardroom environment.
  • Available to work 365 days a year.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic navigation/intermediate navigation/data mining/process flow.
  • Completed prerequisite training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 88M or 88N2O/3O – Transportation Management Coordinator, or 4-6 years of transportation coordinator experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assignment of motor vehicles and drivers for passenger conveyance.
  • Coordination with passengers and drivers via phone or the TRANSLOC online application to facilitate transportation needs.
  • Issuance of keys, iPads, record sheets, dispatch packets, and fuel cards.
  • Recording passenger or driver incidents and maintenance schedules.
  • Coordination of driver breaks and lunches to minimize passenger wait times.
  • Conferring with customers to expedite transportation or facilitate special needs.
  • Maintaining records of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
  • Assisting the Shuttle Fleet Supervisor with administrative responsibilities and reporting to the Transportation Movements Manager.
