About The Position

Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is currently seeking experienced Motor Grader Operators to join their team. This is a full-time role reporting to the Foreman - Grading & Pipe. Nights and/or weekends may be required in addition to regular day shifts. The primary job function is to operate a motor grader to perform grading tasks, ensuring precision and accuracy.

Requirements

Willingness and ability to perform manual work and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment-vest, steel-toed boots, helmet.
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and to effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object.
Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
Ability to quickly move arms and legs.
Ability to sit for an extended period of time and the eye/hand/feet ability and coordination to operate a manual transmission and clutch in both trucks and any other equipment being driven.
Able to climb stairs/ steps and to use handrails to climb and exit the equipment’s raised cab.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy.

Nice To Haves

A high school diploma or equivalent is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate a motor grader to perform fine grading for paving, drainage, and other construction projects.
Maintain proper grade using automated grade controls, lasers, or by following manual instructions.
Assist in site preparation by cutting, leveling, and smoothing surfaces to meet project specifications.
Perform routine maintenance checks and minor adjustments on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and grade stakes.
Work collaboratively with the Foreman and other team members to achieve daily production goals.
Assist with other tasks as needed, including material handling and job site clean-up.
Other duties as assigned.
Assist with the crew in manual labor when not operating equipment.
