About The Position

We are looking for a Motor Grader Operator to join our Big Spring, TX team. Operates motor grader for excavating/embanking soils and moisture conditioning, placement, and finishing flexible base courses. Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in company policy and OSHA/ MSHA regulations.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to work outside in the elements.

Responsibilities

  • Skillfully operates motor grader to achieve required densities, specified lines and grades, and surface quality of earthwork specifications. Skill in cutting/ finishing to blue top grades, running automated cross-slopes, and Trimble GPS, when available.
  • May occasionally operate other earthwork equipment, including a loader, steel, pneumatic roller, and power broom.
  • Maintains, oils, greases, services, and makes normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • Installs and removes traffic control devices daily.
  • Other miscellaneous duties include, but are not limited to, equipment maintenance, assisting the foreperson, and/or crew members as needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Occasionally performs general laboring duties such as shoveling and raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil material.
  • Occasionally directs and guides traffic through the construction job site using proper equipment and procedures.
  • Regularly erects, positions, and moves sign packages in a safe, accurate manner, adhering to state specifications. Move traffic control devices regularly, lifting 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
