About The Position

Performs clerical and maintenance work in the offices and facilities of Moss Lake. Work includes issuing permits for lake use, collecting fees, answering public questions, maintaining grounds and facilities. Work is performed on weekends and includes both inside and outside work. Work is performed under the direction of the Moss Lake Supervisor and is evaluated based on observation, accuracy of records and effectiveness of maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used in grounds and building maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of safety precautions applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Working knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain records of work activities and accurately account for funds.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the public.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to be tactful and courteous.
  • Ability to train and lead other workers.
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must possess the visual acuity to use hand tools, operate mobile equipment such as the boat and gator in a safe manner, to inspect work quality, to work with data and figures, do some accounting tasks, and to maintain records.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in office work with emphasis on public contact tasks, handling/issuing permits, compiling/completing cash reports, usage of financial transaction computer applications and some experience in facilities and grounds maintenance and repair work preferably in a park setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and routes visitors; issues permits for camping and boating; collects payments for use and provides receipts; enters sales and monetary information into City�s financial system; counts money for deposits.
  • Cleans bathrooms, parking and campground areas; picks up trash.
  • Lock park as needed.
