About The Position

This role assists in properly maintaining and archiving member account records in Loan Operations. The Mortgage Servicing Clerk will be knowledgeable of the Credit Union’s products and services, and proficient in the efficient use of the Credit Union’s vendor provided systems to properly provide service. This position provides exceptional member service at all times.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mental alertness and neat appearance.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Cooperative attitude and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, management and membership.
  • Skill and tactfulness in communicating with co-workers and members.
  • Requires a complete knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate mature judgment as it pertains to the Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in personal computers, software, and peripherals including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, imaging scanners, and printers.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to organize work, to prioritize, and to handle a large volume of detailed work in allotted time.
  • Must be bondable without exclusion and fully covered under a Faithful Performance of Trust.
  • Must be able to learn to use Credit Union's data processing system, application software, and any other applicable hardware and software.

  • May be required to attend and satisfactorily complete seminars, workshops and courses management determines beneficial to the Credit Union.
  • May need to obtain (at the Credit Union’s expense) the State of Ohio Notary Public License prior to the assumption of position.
  • Must have professional approach toward work and the ability to function well in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of mortgage processing, with experience in title processing, or back-end mortgage operations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in properly maintaining and archiving member account records in Loan Operations.
  • Interacts with Credit Union members, management, staff, volunteers, and outside vendors in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in all member interactions.
  • Helps maintain the friendliest atmosphere possible in the Credit Union Office.
  • Keeps members’ transactions and other member and Credit Union business in strictest confidence.
  • Receives employees, members, and outside vendors personally or by telephone; determines the nature of the business and either transacts the request or refers the party to the suitable Credit Union personnel.
  • Cross sells Credit Union services: explaining such matters as various types of accounts and supports all marketing promotions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
  • Adheres to all Government and Credit Union Regulations and Policies.
  • Responsible for scanning and maintaining files and reports within the Credit Union’s document managing/imaging system.
  • Assists with hard copy file creation, maintenance, and timely disposition of paper files maintained in the servicing of loans.
  • Prepares and mails Collection notices to members as needed.
  • Prepares and mails Consumer Loan notices to members as needed.
  • May assist with administering the operation of ATM/Debit and Credit Card processing, such as issuing new & replacement cards, file maintenance, adjustments, and lost/stolen card processing according to Credit Union policy.
  • May open new accounts on data processing system for new indirect loan members.
  • Performs basic account maintenance and report creation as needed on various loan servicing systems.
  • Opens, forwards, and processes mail accordingly and efficiently.
  • Performs various clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assures security of the work area, desks, filing cabinets, etc.
