About The Position

The Mortgage Intern will support M/I Financial at the company’s corporate office in Columbus, Ohio, and gain experience with its day-to-day activities. The internship uses a rotation approach through corporate functions including Secondary Marketing, Financial Services, Compliance & Quality Control, Underwriting, Warehouse and Funding, and Post Closing. The intern will participate in weekly department and internship-led training sessions, receive guidance from senior team members and corporate leadership, and attend team meetings. Assignments provide exposure to the mortgage process from initial application through completion.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's or associate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent written and strong oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn through on-the-job training and real-world experiences alongside seasoned professionals.
• Provide first-class service and participate in project assignments, mentoring, and job shadowing.
• Develop onboarding checklists for new hires in various functions and departments.
• Provide project management assistance for active projects and initiatives and support functional-area lines of business.
• Assist with preparing resource documentation, including presentations, checklists, and procedures.
• Work on assignments covering the mortgage process from initial application through completion.
• Apply skills and talents to improve processes and workflow.
• Share ideas and offer suggestions.
