About The Position

Ocrolus is seeking a Mortgage Forward-Deployed Engineer to bridge its product and mortgage customers. The role works directly with clients, writes production code, and helps customers improve their business workflows using the Ocrolus platform. It partners with the Account Management, implementation, and onboarding teams and is part of the Account Management team. The position involves serving as an engineer, architect, and trusted advisor, including prototyping custom integrations, leading proof-of-value engagements, and sharing customer insights to inform the product roadmap. The engineer supports mortgage clients using Ocrolus, Encompass, and other point-of-sale and loan-origination platforms. The role includes occasional travel of approximately 30–50% to customer sites and industry events. The listed full-time salary range is $150,000–$170,000, plus commission, equity, and benefits; base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting.
At least 3 years of background in mortgage or lending workflows.
Strong understanding of and experience with Encompass.
A consultative sales or account management approach, including the ability to connect technology to business challenges and lead change-management conversations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience engaging senior mortgage executives.
Backend experience with Python, APIs, Encompass Developer Connect, and SQL.
Frontend experience with React/TypeScript and JavaScript using ICE Secure Scripting Framework (SSF) for Encompass custom forms and workflow logic.
Familiarity with mortgage LOS/POS platforms such as Encompass, Blend, SimpleNexus, and Floify; Git; and cloud fundamentals such as AWS or Azure.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and take initiative to get work done.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SaaS integrations or loan-origination systems.
Experience with additional mortgage LOS/POS platforms.
Exposure to AI/ML or generative AI.

Responsibilities

Act as a technical expert and trusted advisor during the post-sales process, embedding with customer teams to understand workflows and demonstrate how Ocrolus improves mortgage-origination efficiency.
Review and advise on technical solutions, APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and integrations that address business problems.
Build and support technical solutions and integrations for mortgage clients using Ocrolus, Encompass, and other POS/LOS mortgage platforms.
Run proof-of-concept and proof-of-value engagements that demonstrate return on investment quickly.
Troubleshoot technical issues in live environments and restore operations.
Partner with Account Management and Product teams to deliver customer value and influence the product roadmap.
Travel occasionally, approximately 30–50%, to customer sites and industry events.
