Wells Fargo is hiring a Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales Consultant to support its Consumer Direct Team. The team builds relationships with consumers and referral partners to help customers pursue personal and financial goals through homeownership. Consultants answer questions and provide guidance on mortgage-related products and services, strengthening customer relationships through attentive interaction, clear communication, organization, integrity, motivation, and goal achievement. The role manages inbound and outbound calls with existing and potential customers, identifies customer needs, provides high-quality service, explains Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, and analyzes and offers suitable mortgage loan products. Consultants provide recommendations for complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing their understanding of loan applications, loan pricing, and rate locks. They work with fulfillment partners throughout the origination process, communicate proactively to maintain client satisfaction, and navigate multiple screens, databases, and applications while speaking with customers. This SAFE position involves customer contact and may include offering or negotiating terms or taking applications for dwelling-secured transactions. Employment requires compliance with the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations, including acceptable background investigation results. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the registration process after the start date. Loan Originators must meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including applicable financial responsibility, character, financial fitness, and criminal background standards. A current credit report is used to assess financial responsibility and credit fitness, but a credit score is not included in the evaluation. Ongoing regulatory requirements and additional screening may apply. The position has a hybrid schedule of one week in the office followed by one week remote, and requires willingness to work on-site at the listed location. The schedule alternates between 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 10:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m., with a Saturday shift of 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. approximately once every four weeks. Hours may adjust in March for the time change. Weekday, weekend, and holiday work may be required as needed or scheduled. Site operating hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
