About The Position

First Service Bank is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Mortgage Banking Officer to join its Mortgage Banking Department in Maumelle, Arkansas. The role helps customers explore home financing options and guides borrowers through the mortgage application process while developing relationships with referral partners, community members, and bank colleagues. The Mortgage Banking Officer contributes to mortgage business growth by originating loans, managing a loan pipeline, and delivering personalized customer service in accordance with bank programs, lending guidelines, regulations, and investor requirements.

The position involves collaborating with mortgage processors, underwriters, closers, and branch teams to support accurate and timely processing, identify mortgage opportunities, and connect customers with other banking products and services. The officer is expected to maintain accurate loan records, participate in professional development and product training, and take part in community and market outreach. This is a full-time, on-site position working Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated experience in mortgage loan origination or related lending.
• Ability to develop referral relationships, generate business opportunities, and manage an active mortgage loan pipeline.
• Working knowledge of mortgage lending products, borrower qualification requirements, disclosures, and investor guidelines.
• Active NMLS registration and other credentials required for assigned mortgage lending activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and mortgage lending systems.
• Strong sales, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and referral partners.
• Willingness to participate in community events, market activities, and professional development opportunities.
• Availability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with prospective borrowers, real estate professionals, referral partners, and community contacts.
• Originate mortgage loans in accordance with approved bank programs, lending guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Guide borrowers through the mortgage application process, explaining available financing options and next steps.
• Evaluate borrower information and documentation to identify appropriate mortgage financing solutions.
• Maintain an active mortgage loan pipeline, monitor application progress, and communicate with customers throughout the lending process.
• Partner with mortgage processors, underwriters, closers, and other team members to support accurate and timely loan processing.
• Ensure mortgage applications, disclosures, and supporting documentation are complete and submitted within required timeframes.
• Develop new business through community involvement, relationship building, and market outreach.
• Collaborate with First Service Bank branches to identify mortgage opportunities and strengthen internal referral relationships.
• Recognize opportunities to connect customers with additional banking products and services.
• Maintain accurate loan records and comply with applicable lending regulations, investor guidelines, and bank policies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, product training, and mortgage banking initiatives.
• Participate in community events and market activities.
