About The Position

Under the direction of the Command Center Supervisor, the Monitor Technician works indirectly with nursing units, ancillary departments, and physicians to coordinate communication of remote telemetry. The role is responsible for distributing, monitoring, validating, and documenting remote telemetry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete a rhythm analysis course and pass the test within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting.
• Background in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and verify physician orders before performing interventions or care.
• Perform computer operations required for the electronic medical record and telemetry monitoring system.
• Use telephone, fax/copier, and nurse call systems.
• Accurately and promptly document clinical data in required logs and post clinical data, such as telemetry strips, in the appropriate IT system.
• Understand and verify cardiac rhythms.
• Communicate promptly and effectively with nursing staff.
• Escalate immediate patient issues to the supervisor or designee.
• Perform other duties as required.
