About The Position
Sentara Health is seeking a Full-Time, day shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves observing, recognizing, interpreting, evaluating, and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. The Monitor Tech will promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias, operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, and ensure the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course (Required)
- Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
- To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years may be accepted in lieu of a monitor tech surveillance program/course
Responsibilities
