Monitor Technician - Telemetry

Prime Healthcare•San Dimas, CA

About The Position

The Monitor Technician is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting and monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors. The role meets the department’s communication needs and, when CPOE and EMR clinical documentation systems are unavailable, transcribes physician orders. The technician verifies that laboratory and radiology tests have been ordered and completed, prepares and compiles records in Med/Surg/Telemetry, orders unit supplies, and prepares and completes each patient’s chart with the necessary daily forms. The technician may assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as this does not distract from the primary responsibility of dysrhythmia monitoring. Direct patient care may be provided under the direct supervision of an RN within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant only if the technician holds active CNA certification, demonstrates annual competency in CNA duties and skills, and is relieved of Monitor Technician duties while assisting the RN. This is a full-time night-shift position at San Dimas Community Hospital. The estimated compensation is $23.00; the exact starting compensation is determined at hire based on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure. The employer offers a benefits package that includes paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefit options.
