About The Position

The Monitor Tech interprets cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias, reports changes in heart rate or rhythm to appropriate nursing staff, maintains telemetry supplies, and records patient conditions using computerized documentation systems. The role requires performing duties with consideration of age-specific factors, orienting and mentoring new staff members, and following Standard Precautions with personal protective equipment as required. The position is at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in Sarasota County, Florida. No travel is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Completion of a Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• CMT or cardiac experience preferred.
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred.
• Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills.

Responsibilities
