About The Position

The Monitor Tech monitors, interprets, and reports telemetry data for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The role recognizes cardiac rhythms that could alter a patient’s physiology and immediately reports them to licensed staff. The Monitor Tech documents rhythm status routinely, when changes occur, and upon request during emergency patient interventions; reports changes in pulse oximetry data to appropriate licensed personnel; follows procedures for monitor applications as directed by licensed staff; maintains monitoring-area supplies; and helps maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass an EKG exam within 60 days of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• Previous telemetry monitoring experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and report data for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients using telemetry monitor systems.
• Recognize rhythms that could alter a patient’s physiology and report them immediately to licensed staff.
• Document rhythm status routinely, for all changes, and upon request during emergent patient interventions.
• Report changes in pulse oximetry data to appropriate licensed personnel.
• Follow procedures for monitor application functions as directed by licensed staff.
• Maintain stock supplies for the monitoring area.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
