About The Position

Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Little Rock provides intensive and specialized care for patients transitioning from traditional or short-term acute care hospitals. The Monitor Tech monitors patients’ heart rhythm patterns using telemetry equipment, reviews information about normal and current rhythms and prior variances, and identifies abnormal changes by observing cardiac monitor screens and responding to alarms.

Requirements

• Read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Have good and regular attendance.
• Achieve a satisfactory score on the EKG interpretation competency test.
• Accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.
• Hold a current BLS certification.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
• EKG certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ telemetry for changes in cardiac rhythms.
• Remove and clean telemetry boxes when patients are discharged from telemetry.
• Maintain accurate records of telemetry patients.
• Immediately notify the RN or supervisor of rhythm changes.
• Assign transmitters and wires and set up the monitor system for patients ordered for telemetry.
• Troubleshoot transmitters and wires and set up the monitor system for patients ordered for telemetry.
• Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
