About The Position

The GSOC Operator ensures efficient and professional security operations within the Command Center. This working-level operator monitors assigned sites to ensure they are visually secure. The role includes assessing security risks, handling access control, documenting facility incidents, and directing other security personnel to address observed issues. The position requires basic knowledge of computers and monitoring equipment and the ability to observe for long periods.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, on-site position at Flint locations in an indoor environment. The stated schedule is third shift, 1 a.m. to 9 a.m.; work assignments may vary by day and time to support 24/7 security operations. Limited travel may be needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Intermediate computer and software skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to related software, including Microsoft, video-editing, Adobe Suite, and Dreamweaver applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good judgment and a high level of integrity.
• High initiative and reliability; ability to self-motivate.
• Ability to work in a diverse, inclusive, collaborative, and team-oriented culture.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and to stand, bend, or walk as needed during the shift.
• Ability to quickly ascend and descend stairs and move as needed.
• Excellent visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned site(s) for disruptions, unlawful activity, incidents, and visual security concerns.
• Assess security risks and handle access control.
• Document facility incidents and write detailed, professional reports as needed.
• Communicate clearly and concisely through monitoring equipment.
• Direct other security personnel to address observed issues.
• Complete the essential functions of a security guard.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service.
