About The Position

Assist the driver in the safe operation of the route and manage students as defined or identified by the school. The role includes supporting student safety and conduct, assisting with bus inspections and boarding, communicating with school personnel and families, and maintaining the inside of the bus. Other specialized functions may be required by contract.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work early morning hours.
Maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward fellow employees and customers.
Dress professionally and appropriately for a business environment.
Ability to use or learn to use the internet, additional programs as required, and office equipment, including fax machines, phones, or other electronic devices.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device.
Manage students and communicate behavior problems to the driver.
Assist with pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections, including child checks, CSRS, and wheelchair lifts.
Assist students with loading and unloading, including use of the wheelchair lift.
Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, parents, and students.
Attend safety and training meetings.
Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including through the emergency door.
Clean the inside of the bus, including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning windows.
Perform other specialized functions as required by contract.
Perform job duties safely and in accordance with OSHA guidelines, applicable federal and state laws, and company policies and procedures.
