About The Position

The Mohs Histotechnician supports Mohs micrographic surgery procedures by providing high-quality histological services in a dynamic clinical environment. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere. The position works with surgical and clinical teams to support smooth Mohs procedures and maintains compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards, including CLIA.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and patients.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL).
Prior experience in a histology or Mohs laboratory.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cut frozen tissue sections using Mohs surgical techniques.
Process and embed tissue samples accurately and efficiently for histopathological examination.
Perform staining techniques for slide preparation and meet quality control requirements.
Document specimen-processing steps and maintain accurate records.
Comply with laboratory safety and regulatory standards, including CLIA.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to support uninterrupted workflow.
Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams during Mohs procedures.
Provide guidance and support to other laboratory staff as needed.
Participate in ongoing education and training to improve histotechnical skills and knowledge.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or team lead.
