About The Position

The Modra Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting Modra equipment to ensure efficient production of yarn packages for tufting. This role involves loading and threading jobs, performing color changes, responding to yarn breaks and system alerts, and adjusting machine settings. The operator will manage yarn supply, handle trollies using a pallet jack, and act as a trainer for team members, suggesting improvements to training materials and SOPs.

Responsibilities

Load, start, and correctly thread jobs from the creel through the winder
Perform color changes and audit trollies for tufting readiness
Respond to yarn breaks, package pickup errors, and system alerts
Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings (speed, density, cone restarts, abort/restart jobs) as needed
Manage yarn supply on the creel and ensure proper handling during production
Properly idle machines for breaks or shift changes
Operate a pallet jack to safely move trollies in and out of the cell
Act as the go-to expert, providing training sessions and one-on-one coaching to team members
Suggest updates to training and SOPs to reflect new feedback and technological advancements
