About The Position

PMAT is seeking an experienced mid-level Model-Based Systems Engineer to support enterprise architecture development, digital engineering, and system-of-systems integration across Navy operational and technical environments. The role helps establish and maintain standardized architecture development processes, governance frameworks, data structures, and modeling practices that support consistent engineering and informed decision-making. The engineer works with systems and mission engineers, cybersecurity personnel, data engineers, and Palantir developers to connect architectural models, operational data, and engineering artifacts in digital environments. The position applies systems engineering and model-based methodologies to translate operational requirements into structured architectures, data models, and actionable engineering insights supporting capability development, integration, and sustainment. The engineer develops and maintains system architectures, requirements, models, interface definitions, technical baselines, and engineering documentation. The role supports analysis, simulation, integration, verification and validation, digital engineering practices, and technical reviews. The position also contributes to model governance and configuration control, communicates engineering recommendations to stakeholders and program leadership, and provides technical guidance to junior engineers. The role supports defense and national security missions. U.S. citizenship and a SECRET clearance are required; dual citizenship is not permitted. Denver, Colorado is preferred. Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland are listed as remote locations. Work may take place in PMAT offices or, when needed, a government facility. Travel is 15% CONUS and OCONUS for customer engagement, team coordination, and potentially business development.
