Model-Based Systems Engineer, Mid

Booz Allen Hamilton•Lexington Park, MD
•$61,900 - $141,000

About The Position

As a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE), you will create, integrate, and apply interdisciplinary digital models of products from concept through the product lifecycle. You will provide engineering technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex systems to meet technical objectives. The role includes designing model-based systems and developing digital twin models and architectures in support of government defense systems. You will help evaluate and modernize how clients connect digital tools and techniques with systems engineering, cybersecurity, and product development. You will develop MBSE skills and experience across complex integrated systems, combining systems and digital engineering to create solutions for clients and turn requirements into engineering accomplishments.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with systems engineering and integration, and MBSE.
  • At least 3 years of experience using digital engineering tools to design DoD systems.
  • Experience architecting solutions from user requirements and use cases for application across a systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience with modeling tools such as Magic Draw or Cameo, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or IBM Rhapsody, and practical application of UML or SysML.
  • Knowledge of MOSA design principles and technologies, DoD architecture standards and framework, and Agile systems engineering methods and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, dynamic team environment with internal staff, external contractors, and government clients.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Language Professional (OCSMP) Model User or Builder Certification, or INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting acquisition programs and government clients.
  • Experience extending systems models into analysis tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or STK, and model-based product support tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
  • Experience with scripting languages, including Velocity Template Language.
  • Experience using system models in government engineering reviews and other systems engineering disciplines, including configuration management, risk management, cybersecurity, and cyber certification processes.
  • Knowledge of DoDD 5000.01, DoDI 5000.02, the System Development Life Cycle, and object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.

Responsibilities
